Featured Artist: Maria Loram
Maria Loram, a ceramic artist based in California, has woven a profound artistic journey through her dedication to ceramics. Although initially trained in art school in Russia, Maria's career path temporarily took her away from her creative roots until a transformative moment in 2022;  a pottery wheel purchase on Facebook that reignited her passion for art.

Influenced by Eastern philosophies and meditation, Maria approaches her craft with meticulous care, often spending weeks to months on each piece. She starts with a search for the perfect clay, followed by numerous experiments with shapes, textures, and attempts at finding a perfect glaze. Each piece undergoes a gradual drying process and multiple firings which ensures that the final product is a work of art and a testament to craftsmanship. Her creations embrace a minimalist, earthy wabi-sabi aesthetic, celebrating imperfection and simplicity as reflections of the universe's mysteries and human experience.

Each work aims to evoke feelings of peace and wonder.

Maria has participated in multiple artist residencies and exhibitions worldwide, including the Cub Creek Foundation in Virginia and the 1000 Vases exhibition in Paris. Her work has been featured in galleries across California, London, and online platforms. No.2 Collection is honoured to be included in those that represent her work.
