Introducing new wall pieces by Italian artist, Silvia de Marchi. Silvia begins her creative process by applying a watery ink mixture, containing iron powder, sand, silver powder, and sometimes dust or plaster, onto large sheets of Fabriano paper. This results in textured, monochromatic surfaces that are rich in imperfections. She then exposes the paper to the elements—sun, wind, and rain—allowing the materials to naturally wear and transform. This process of degradation and change reflects the balance of fragility and strength in her work. Finally, Silvia tears or cuts the paper into sections, which she arranges into intricate, layered compositions.
