Introducing the first piece in Lise Camoin's new Linum usitatum series which explores a completely new material for the artist; linen produced in Normandy.
The exploration of line remains central, but here it is composed of threads. The linen fiber is used in the form of a “ribbon” of infinite length. The fiber has not yet been spun; it retains a raw appearance while still remaining luminous. Once stitched, the textile becomes supple and can twist, crease, and fold, creating hollows and reliefs, and fixing a moment in time.
