A one of a kind vessel from Canoa Lab from a unique series titled Pliegue.
The Pliegue series is the result of experimentation with the processes commonly used in Canoa Lab's studio, introducing a more spontaneous and less structured approach. The team works with the same molds used for reproducing pieces from their permanent collection, applying the press mold technique. However, in this series, they explore the mold's structure and its potential by altering how the material is handled. Clay is worked in its softest state, thrown, dropped, and pressed irregularly onto the mold. This approach allows the clay sheets to take on unpredictable shapes, creating more organic, free-flowing forms. The resulting pieces reflect the interaction of the material with the mold’s concave and convex surfaces, gravity, and chance, with each fold and curve being a unique outcome of this spontaneous process.
